Growing Education, Empowering Farmers & Giving Back to the Community

At BloomBox Farm & Garden Center, our vision to sow an interest to grow in every household guides everything we do. In 2025, this vision came to life through our continued commitment to agricultural education, sustainable farming, and community empowerment, as we proudly supported students, schools, and farmers across Dominica through a series of impactful donations and collaborative initiatives.

Greenhouse Donation to North East Comprehensive School

In January 2025, BloomBox facilitated the donation of a state-of-the-art greenhouse, complete with an irrigation system, to North East Comprehensive School. The official handover, held on the school grounds, marked a significant enhancement in agricultural education and climate justice efforts. This greenhouse will offer students hands-on experience in sustainable farming practices while fostering environmental stewardship. DNO

Automated Irrigation Systems for Schools

Through our ongoing partnership with the Climate Classrooms Initiative, funded by the Open Society Foundation, BloomBox helped install automated irrigation systems at multiple schools, including Castle Bruce Secondary School and North East Comprehensive School. These systems provide practical learning tools that support agricultural science curricula and empower students with modern, sustainable farming techniques. DNO

At Castle Bruce Secondary School, the new irrigation setup now serves the Environmental Club and agricultural program, offering students real-world experience and a deeper understanding of sustainable farming. DNO

Supporting Practical Agriculture Education

Our dedication to youth and agriculture doesn’t stop with equipment. In recognition of remarkable student innovation, BloomBox honored Mazhira Marie, a first-form student who designed a solar-powered drip irrigation system for her school science fair project—an inventive solution that demonstrates sustainability and resource efficiency. We are also proud to have participated in hands-on agricultural training with students from Belles Primary School and Castle Bruce Secondary School, where young learners received practical instruction in soil testing, plant propagation, and irrigation installation—skills essential for the next generation of growers.

What This Means for Dominica’s Future

Each of these efforts reflects BloomBox’s longstanding vision to sow an interest to grow in every household. By equipping youth with tools, knowledge, and experiences that promote sustainable agriculture, we’re helping build a more resilient, food-secure future for Dominica.

Throughout 2025, BloomBox’s contributions have strengthened educational programs, enhanced community agricultural capacity, and fostered meaningful partnerships that amplify our collective impact across the island.

As we continue to grow with our partners, customers, and communities, we remain humbled by the opportunity to support agriculture from classroom gardens to family farms—and everything that grows in between.
